Description: You are working overtime when you see your workplace haunted by ghosts! Defeat all of them, get stronger, and maybe you’ll get to clock out….
My main influences were The Binding of Issac and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. I wanted to create a top down 2D RPG game that allowed for the player to incorporate melee and ranged combat into their gameplay.
The player is able to use both melee and ranged combat with simple controls of the mouse buttons. The player controls their attacks with a crosshair and the player model follows the crosshair as well. The player’s melee attacks can only attack on the horizontal plane, but the ranged attacks allows for them to defeat enemies that cant normally be reached.
The player can break boxes to get access to different areas and can sometimes find a heart to either heal the player by 1 or increase their max hp by 1. I designed it so the player starts off at a set amount of hp, and they are rewarded by breaking boxes to gain more hp in order to survive against future levels and enemies.
There is an enemy counter that will update every time the player defeats a ghost or when they encounter more. If there are encounters in a room, the door closes on the player and will open once all enemies are defeated.
